How to get the most value from the app
1. Start with the household
Create or join a household first. That way your inventory, shopping list, and reminders stay shared with the right people.
2. Use barcode scan for recurring products
For everyday items, barcode scanning is usually the fastest path. If a code is unknown, enter the item once and let Frigo learn it for next time.
3. Treat receipt import as a draft
Receipt import works best as a fast starting point, not as blind automation. Always review the rows before saving.
4. Set location and expiry date early
Frigo becomes much more useful when location and dates are right from the start. That makes reminders and inventory views more accurate later.

Practical usage tips
- Use the home screen priority section to see what should be used first.
- If an item already exists at home, Frigo shows a duplicate warning during add and receipt import.
- Date scanning works best when the printed date is close to the camera, well lit, and straight in frame.
- If a barcode is unknown, choose a similar common household item to save time.
